Deadband (DB Control) adjustment
The deadband control adjusts the point at which a tripped alarm resets.
This point will be above the setpoint for a low type alarm or below for a
high type. The procedure for adjusting the DB control is as follows:
1. Adjust the SET control
2. Set the deadband to maximum by turning the DB control fully
clockwise.
3.
Trigger the alarm by setting the input signal to ‘full scale’ (for a high
type alarm) or ‘zero’ (for a low type alarm).
4. Set the input to the level at which the alarm should reset.
5.
D
ecrease the deadband (turn control anticlockwise) until the LED
extinguishes.
6. Check that the setpoint and deadband are set correctly.
I
n
ternal settings (Alarm type and coil energisation)
To change the alarm type or coil energisation:
1. Remove the left hand side plate.
2.
S
et the links according to the diagram (right).
3. Replace the side plate.
CJC Tracking Adjustment (factory setting)
The procedure for CJC tracking adjustment
is as follows:
1.
Remove the electronics from the housing.
2. Connect up the alarm according to the
table above.
3.
Set the thermocouple simulator to 2 % below the lowest
temperature in the range of the instrument, e.g., for a 0-400 °C
span, set the simulator to -8 °C.
4.
Adjust VR1 on the personality card until the voltage between pins 8
and 9 of the personality card is 0.00 mV.
This completes the CJC tracking adjustment.
